General care for your furniture
A little time and effort goes a long way in extending the lifespan of your furniture. By following these basic care and maintenance guidelines, you'll be able to keep your furniture looking its best for longer.
– Position your furniture away from heat and sunlight which can cause colour fading and surface degradation
– Give your furniture a weekly clean to prevent dust build up. Use a soft, damp cloth and dry with a soft duster making sure no surfaces are left wet
– Make sure any accidental spills on your furniture are dealt with immediately to prevent stains from setting in
– Do not use scourers, abrasives, solvent based cleaners, detergents or corrosives to clean your furniture as these can cause surface damage
– To keep your dining table looking its best, always use place mats to protect the table top from hot plates and to prevent scratches. Wipe clean after every use
– Do not sit on your sofa arms as the extra weight can damage the frame
– Flip and rotate your sofa cushions regularly to even out the wear
– Do not place hot cups or plates directly onto your sofa as this can damage the upholstery
– Be careful with sharp objects such as studs, buckles, jewellery, heels, toys or a pet's claws on your furniture as they can cause scratches or tears
– Regularly tighten any bolts to avoid damage and maintain stability and strength
– Do not drag your furniture when moving, instead lift and place it carefully
